Nicene Creed

1	Πιστεύω εις ένα Θεόν, Πατέρα, παντοκράτορα, ποιητήν ουρανού και γης, ορατών τε πάντων και αοράτων.	I believe in one God, the Father, the Almighty, Creator of heaven and earth, and of all things visible and invisible.
2	Και εις ένα Κύριον Ιησούν, Χριστόν, τον Υιόν τoυ Θεoύ, τον μονογενή, τον εκ του Πατρός γεννηθέντα προ πάντων των αιώνων. Φως εκ φωτός, Θεόν αληθινόν εκ Θεού αληθινού, γεννηθέντα ου ποιηθέντα, ομοούσιον το Πατρί, δι’ ου τα πάντα εγένετο.	And in one Lord, Jesus Christ, the only begotten Son of God, begotten of the Father before all ages. Light of Light, true God of true God, begotten, not created, of one essence with the Father, through whom all things were made.
3	Τον δι’ ημάς τούς ανθρώπους και δια την ημετέραν σωτηρίαν κατελθόντα εκ των ουρανών και σαρκωθέντα εκ Πνεύματος ‘Αγίου και Μαρίας της Παρθένου και ενανθρωπήσαντα.	For us and for our salvation, He came down from heaven and was incarnate by the Holy Spirit and the Virgin Mary and became man.
4	Σταυρωθέντα τε υπέρ ημών επί Ποντίου Πιλάτου και παθόντα και ταφέντα.	He was crucified for us under Pontius Pilate, and He suffered and was buried.
5	Και αναστάντα την τρίτη ημέρα κατά τας Γραφάς.	On the third day He rose according to the Scriptures.
6	Και ανελθόντα εις τούς ουρανούς και καθεζόμενον εκ δεξιών του Πατρός.	He ascended into heaven and is seated at the right hand of the Father.
7	Και πάλιν ερχόμενον μετά δόξης κρίναι ζώντας και νεκρούς, ου της βασιλείας ουκ έσται τέλος.	He will come again in glory to judge the living and the dead. His kingdom will have no end.
8	Και εις το Πνεύμα το Άγιον, το κύριον, το ζωοποιόν, το εκ του Πατρός εκπορευόμενον, το συν Πατρί και Υιώ συμπροσκυνούμενον και συνδοξαζόμενον, το λαλήσαν δια των Προφητών.	And in the Holy Spirit, the Lord, the Giver of Life, who proceeds from the Father, who together with the Father and the Son is worshiped and glorified, who spoke through the prophets.
9	Εις μίαν, αγίαν, καθολικήν και αποστολικήν Εκκλησίαν.	In one, holy, catholic, and apostolic Church.
10	Ομολογώ εν βάπτισμα εις άφεσιν αμαρτιών.	I acknowledge one baptism for the forgiveness of sins.
11	Προσδοκώ ανάστασιν νεκρών.	I expect the resurrection of the dead.
12	Και ζωήν του μέλλοντος αιώνος. Αμήν.	And the life of the age to come. Amen.
